We wake up each day with food on our plates. But where do our food come from? How is it grown and how can we be an active part of that process? This program is a hands-on learning adventure introducing us to Afrikan concepts and practices based on earth-plant-farming and their relationship to health, self-healing power and our fahodie (liberation). To explore these themes and more we would be traveling to four regions in Ghana. We begin at Liate Wote (home of Ghana’s tallest mountain) in the Volta Region to learn the basics of organic farming at the Kweku Andoh Sustainability Institute (KASI). We would also go to the Upper East of Ghana for a culturally immersive homestay experience living and working with locals amongst whom farming is a way of life. We would also visit the dungeons in Cape Coast bringing our journey to a rest in a cottage by the pristine blue ocean and forests in Axim, Western Region. Join us on this trip if you want to know more about farming and experience Ghana in an off-the-beaten path kind of way.
